In Math 109, the computer is utilized in various ways. Nearly all of the professors use computer exercises which focus on several important concepts, including: data management and simple statistics; exploratory data analysis; correlation and regression; probability and the central limit theorem; and tests of hypotheses. Most of the professors utilize Microsoft Excel for Windows, but there is also experimentation with other software; for example Professor Lyons is using Maple this semester.
