AP Credit Policy in Mathematics
AP Calculus Credit:
- If a student earns a 4 or 5 on the Calculus AB exam, then they receive credit for MTH 555 and they are ready to take MTH 112.
- If a student earns a 3 or lower on the Calculus AB exam, then they may take MTH 111. A motivated student should still consider taking MTH 112, but they should talk to their advisor, and possibly the math dept. chair, to decide if that is appropriate.
- If a student earns a 4 or 5 on the Calculus BC exam, then they receive credit for the new MTH 112 and may enroll in the new MTH 113.
- If a student earns a 3 on the Calculus BC exam, then they will receive credit for MTH 555 and they are ready to take MTH 112.
- If a student earns a 2 or lower on the Calculus BC exam, then they should also receive an AB sub score that can be used as described above.
AP Statistics Credit:
- A Score of 5 on the AP statistics test gives credit for MTH 109
